As an educator for over 20 years, I can tell you that private universities offer two distinct advantages. First: Class sizes are usually much smaller; thus, you learn more and get more individualized attention. Second: Upon graduation, you are now part of an exclusive alumni. Did you know that some people who graduate from private schools will only hire those people from the same private school? Now you know why people pay more for private universities... it's what you know and who you know that will make your future.

Well, I go to a private university, and really I don't see what the big deal is...The only difference I can note, and it may be a big one depending on how you learn, but we have much smaller classes. Where my best friend at the state university has an average of 300+ people in his classes, I have an average of 20 or so people. My smallest class was 12 people and my largest class so far was a chem lab that had about 300 people in the lecture part. It is far more expensive, but the personal feel of the classroom, and the potential relationship you can build with your professors and teaching assistants is what you're paying for I guess...(that and the state government doesn't fund the school, so you have to make up for it.) It's also been mentioned to me that our professors are of better quality, but I think that it varies in a private university just the same as it does in a public one.

If you're trying to decide where to go to school. Decide your major and work from there...that's what I did...if you know what you wanna study, look for the best university known for that field. Good luck!

I go to a private university and I can tell you that although they are expensive, they are definately worth it. You really get to know your professors, which is a huge advantage for you. Also you get to know a lot more people since there are much less students that attend private universities. State schools are slightly more impersonal. Any school you go to will have parties..some more than others. BYU is a very good school, but it's mostly Mormons.

Private Universities are better than Public universities in many ways like private uni's have more funds for research and have better professors. Also private universities present better opportunities for a student to grow in all fields.

They are the Best if one can afford. I love to go to a private university but I can`t afford. So what to do?

ANyway I wish you could go there. Everything they have is the best. Students, Proffesors, Classes, everything. And you get to meet real genius too. So that`s why they are expensive.

Good Luck

Small class size. Smarter students. Cozier atmosphere. I applied to a private university, but couldn't afford it. I wish I could've. I don't love my state university. Lots of ignorant kids who are there to party and nothing more.

BYU is an excellent school. Many of its programs rank in the top 50 programs in the nation. It is also EXTREMELY affordable. It is also a Dead Stone Sober school...

hi Mr linlyons, Do maximum universities prepare undesirable technology? No, of direction no longer. although, and mockingly some (no longer all yet some) “eco-friendly tech” classes do no longer necessitates chemestry as pre needful. heavily. Does any variety of faculty education incline one to think of that worldwide warming is a situation? nicely, warm subjects are consistently a funky element and in simple terms like “political correctness a hundred and one” it fairly is an inherent element of campus curriculum nicely suited next to beer juggling weekend, raves events & boycott Ugg boots stress petitions :( i think of that persons are on the panic mode, all of the hurry to bounce the gun and impose hasty transition in any respect value, in the time of a time whilst worldwide economic device nonetheless relies upon a lot on fossil gas. _____________ I gave jim z and FGr TU

some private universities have a lower entrance score to get in. as long as you have the money you'll get your education even if you aren't very academically talented.
