I'm looking for "safe" questions that lead to interesting/fun debate for people of all ages & experience.
A "safe" question is: NOT political or religious.
The purpose would be to increase vocabulary & boost discussion and conversational skills in an English conversation school.

Yes I am a teacher.
I work in an English conversation school & debate needs to consider ALL clients.
Though I believe political and religious debate to be valuable - the purpose of the debate would be educational from a linguistic & fun perspective.

What would you love to do with the rest of your life?
If you were stuck in an elevator with ONE person, who would it be?
If you could speak to anyone in the world, who would it be and what would you say to them?
If you could ask God one question, what would it be?
If you could contact someone that has "passed over", who would it be, and what would you say to them?
If you could say anything you wanted to your parents (without any repercussions) what would you say?

I think it SHOULD be religious or political. Realistically, we can't keep sterilizing our kid's consciousness from stuff they most certainly will have to debate and struggle with as they inherit our problems from us. At least, let's make them rational and optimistic in dealing with these problems by exercising their perceptions about the issues now. You don't send your kid into the woods without shoes, why send him into the future without awareness.

That should lead to some nice, technical debate.
