I'm looking for a list of every publicly traded company headquartered in San Diego. I tried the SEC website but they only let me search by state, which gave me too many results. I don't care what exchange the stocks are traded on, and I want to include over-the-counter stocks, every public company.

The only way to do this is through a search of the historical EDGAR database (link below). You will need to use the search string: City="San Diego" which informed me there were 10,444 filings made to date in 2006 where San Diego was in the header as the city code (this includes multiple responses for certain filers). All searchs are limited to 800 responses, so you would need to narrow down the results through searching the names with more precise strings.

Good Luck.
