I have farted on several escalators, and usually people do nothing. They adopt a poker face and relentlessly ignore it.
Exception: a loud, really wet fart that sounds like it may have a turd right behind it. This is show shocking and disgusting a sound that people can't hide their scorn.

Yes, I did not want to look at the time. I blamed it on a baby on the opposite escalator, I hope they believed me, they were awful quiet.

He fell over. It caused the escalator to be stopped for service.

Yes I once did, but surprisingly it doesn't smell, so no reaction. But my guess is if it smells, they will cover their noses/run down or up the escalator fast in order to escape =D
