It depends on where you live. State universities are much less expensive than most other schools, especially if you live in state. In California, the CALSTATE universities are much less expensive that the UC universities. Private universities are generally the most expensive of all. If you looking to save money, your best bet are junior colleges. If you go your first two years to a junior college and finish your last two years at a regular university you can save thousands. And the degree you get will be the same as someone who attended all four years.

You could also try a university in the United Kingdom. Even paying non-resident tuition, it is less expensive than many schools here plus many of their bachleors programs are three years rather than four.

Generally you'll get the best tuition if you go to a state university, but you have to be a resident of the state to get reasonable tuition. You can also save on tuition if you take as many undergrad classes as you can at the local community college (as long as they'll transfer to your university).

And BYU? Brigham Young University? Think again. It's a private school and it's far more expensive than a state school.

BYU is an excellent school. And it is NOT more expensive than state universities. Check out their website and compare. It is the best bargain in quality schooling in the country.

Northern Michigan University is pretty cheap, especially if you've got good grades. And they give you a laptop!
