Did you go to MSN headquarters online and check for updates? Also see if your little fans are clogged with lint.

I had a similar problem with my comp. Usually this problem comes from viruses and spyware. Try Ad-Aware SE Personal for the spyware. It's recommended by so many people and it works. Viruses can be off with Norton or McAfee. If the problem persists, bring it to GeekSquad or a repair shop. My desktop crashed once and I had to do the same. Defrag the hard drive.

If there is no important info on the computer, I'd say as a last resort, reformat the hard drive and reinstall XP.

Most likely your computer has some adware / spyware configuration on your computer.

The best way I think is to Save all your data on a backup disc and try reformatting the computer again.

Hope this helps.
