The best burgers aren't made by fast food restuarants. I can think of a couple of better placces in San Francisco - One Market make a $20 burger, that I feel safe in ordering cooked rare. Also, Jesters does an excellent burger.

In-n-out. Let me also point out that In-n-out is only in 3 states, and really only in 1 as outside of california there are only like 4 stores. And with only one state it has more votes on this page than any other fast food restaurant. I work at In-n-out, trust me its the absolute best.

I will vote for Car ls' Jr. However, I read the other answers and we do not have In-and-Out, Culver's or many of the restaurants listed here. So I guess my vote won't mean much since I haven't tried many of the others. Sorry.

It would depend on where you live in the USA and what you like. But I absolutely LOVE burgers from Portillo's and Wendy's.
