NO!!!! there is no point for having wars they kill people cost money and separate nations apart take for instance the current war in Israel and Lebanon this war is just creating more hate between the Muslims and the Jews if the whole world tried peace for just one year I'm sure they would like it more than having a war and killing people like John Lennon of The Beatles said
Give Peace A Chance.

There has only been 100 years of continuous peace in the recorded history of man.
Since most of the soldiers are men 15 to 25 it does a lot to keep the population down.
Most wars are over money, land or power. So who are the real benefactors of war? It is the owners of the banks.

No. A nation which is in war against another nation loses billions of dollars, not to mention the lives of the soldiers and innocent civilians alike, who perished and will perish until the issue is resolve. Have you seen any nation engaged in war has a growth in economy? Not even the USA, who suffers economic crisis by spending billions on its war against terrorist. A war ravaged nation had difficulties in rebuilding their economy (ie. Lebanon, Iraq, Vietnan, North Korea, Liberia, Somalia, Afganisthan, etc.). Only those countries who manufacture and sell military hardware gained benefits from the war.

War is never good because of the clear moral considerations but it can become unavoidable if no adequate preventive measures are taken. Most important causes of war are in the sphere of demography: overpopulation, exorbitant growth of ethnic minorities that transform into majorities and claim political power indirectly or directly. We hope that today modern science can permit us, for the first time in history, to resolve demographical problems by peaceful measures, without war and genocide. The pivotal role among such measures belongs to birth control and population planning in accordance with economic and environmental realities.

war is how we keep society split apart. war has no way to bring society together. take for instance Africa if all the separate countries stopped all the wars and killing over religion and sectarian differences they would join together to become one very large and powerful nation. wars are only fought do to differences of opinion.

yes to a certain degree. if not for war, there'd be little progress in the area of military strategy, technology.

With no wars, we would all be sissies. Human beings thrive on competition too, whether its sports, sibling rivalry, or deadly wars.

war takes lives
so the answer would be no
War throughout history has resulted in death,
and acquisition
That seems to be the nature of WAR
from the beginning, the battle for the heavens
After the seventh day........
Dust off that book
And begin; In The Beginning......!
