I love the winter because you can keep putting on clothes to keep warm. In the summer there's only so much you can take off before you're out of clothes and in hot water.
Snow and ice do stink. I agree. I've had a snow-related accident and I would rather move to Texas than stay in Kansas.
However, the wind here doesn't just happen in the winter. We get wind all the time. We have 97 mph just last week during a thunderstorm.
For me it's just the snow and ice. Beyond that winter wouldn't be so bad.

I live in Montana, sometimes it is -50 degrees below zero.
But without the cold and snow we would be loosing our trees to insects much faster than we are now.
I would not be able to watch the bunnies in their white winter coats, I would not have the deer coming to town to feed in the yards of my neighbors.
I would also miss the wild flowers that bloom from the melted snow.
I hate the cold, the ice and snow, but so many other things benefit from it.
So I shut up and try to enjoy those things that benefit from it.

I love winter, but it depends on where you are. Winter in Houston means you still have shorts weather intermittently and it snows on the average once every 8 years. But I also love Denver, where it's dry, not much wind, and the snow tends to be light and fluffy instead of wet and icy.

I hate winter!! I used to live in PA.. and the lake-effect snow was bad! I hated the cold weather. Now I live in Florida though, and it is also hard to get used to hot weather!! I need to find a happy-medium! lol

I live to the North in Michigan (West Michigan). And personally, it's just another way of looking and seeing how faithful God is with the changing seasons. Besides, who doesn't like a hot cup of cocca after a sleigh ride?? And whats up with a green Christmas?? ;)
Oh, and seriously, Michigan has a more snow. We're a peninsula with a LOT of lake effect.

Who said you don't have to do yard work during winter??? Apparently you have never had to shovel/snow blow 10 feet of packed snow and ice driveways and sidewalks or risk stepping out of your door to break your neck on black ice!!
Anyways..I totally agree...being your neighbor to the north (Wisconsin) That frigid cold and ice can go somewhere else. I much prefer how it is right now today. 80's with little to no humidity.

Nope I think if I didn't have winter I would be sad, sure I complain about it when it's here but i would truly miss it, I love sledding with my son, skiing making a snowman and then coming in for a cup of hot chocolate with marshmellows after :)
