She would lie to make headlines for herself and to try to remove some of the tarnish off her reputation. That would be like a porn actress who did 100 movies say that she only had sex twice.

It's all PR spin, just like Twitney Spheres asking the media to respect her privacy.....while on a national TV (media) broadcast.
So many of today's celebs are so full of it that they can't see through their own BS anymore, and they believe everything their publicists feed them.
