Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Some people hear a song that they think is brilliant, and they don't want to know that it isn't original.

Personally, on the whole, the original song is the best song.

Uhh sorry but ur friend is retarded...she shouldnt get mad if u think that the bee gees sang it better. If thats ur opinion, then she should just respect it. Unless shes a big fan of Destiny's Child, then thats a diff. story ;)

I've always felt that no "cover artist" could ever do a song better than the original - you have to think (at least somewhat) that the original version may be the way that song was *intended* to be done.

Now, there is nothing at all wrong with liking the cover version better - perhaps it fits your tastes more. Personally, I like Manfred Mann's cover of "Blinded by the Light" more than I like Bruce Springsteen's original version, and I also like Manfred Mann's cover of "Demolition Man" more than I like The Police's original version. But that doesn't mean Manfred Mann did them *better* - just differently.

That is part of it, but a lot depends on what they wanfrom the song.

here's a test you can perform

"I Heard it Through The Grapevine"

Marvin Gaye (original)
Gladys Knight and the Pips
Creedance Clearwater revival.

Who has the best version?

They are just set in their own personal opinion too much to give your opinion any merit. I happen to like older versions of songs better than a lot of the remakes.

OH YEAH??!!...just who do you do think you are?....little miss...little miss KNOW IT ALL!...yeah that's it...

just kidding there...

personally...i have heard hundreds of great (and lousy) covers in my lifetime...

oh...and it was samantha sang who did "emotions" with the bee gees on backing vocals...

Yes...perhaps it's also that you bruised their feelings of loyalty to DC and raised reality that they did a remake and not being an original which, of course, lowers their place on the pedestal of admiration of uniqueness?

it's only opinion... no one REALLY sang it better.. it's just that some people have different opinions which makes them THINK that. that person/group did it better.

maybe they just disagree with you and think, in this case, that destiny's child did it better
