Why should I have to pay the doctor, if his treatment did not work. Am I not entitled to a refund for fees charged.

Do you think that he should alos refund my money for the ineffective medications he/she prescribed?Every other service does. .Why do doctors get away with this practice?

not every one responds to all medicines, and not every germ responds to the same medicine in one person as it does in another. its really not all the doctors fault, however you have the right to change doctors.

This is a very terrible thing to have happen and it has happened to me too. I know mistakes are made, but in my opinion, doctors and pharmacist cannot afford to make mistakes. There mistakes can kill us. I just do not believe there is room for error when filling a prescription. If they are not competent, they need another profession. I once had a problem with a pharmacist who made numerous mistakes on my prescription, as well as, other. I finally had to call and write a formal complaint against him. I hate that he lost his job because of my turning him in. But, that was better than someone losing a life. We all need to know what our medication is for and what it looks like. Don't ever be afraid to ask your pharmacist any question! Some times a pill will change it's color or shape (especially when it goes generic) We need to be aware of these changes, Also, make sure you are clear as to exactly when and how to take your medications. It is best to buy all of your medicine at the same pharmacy for every prescription so they can keep up with what you are taking and be sure that you do not take any medicines that should not be taken with something else.

You have a good point there. If this is a recurring problem with the same doctor, the Better Business Bureau should be notified. Sometimes medicine works on one person that doesn't work on another. Also, doctors tend to treat symptoms in the context that it is a common disease. I think the reason they don't refund money is because of all the fakers out there who would take advantage of the situation and say the medicine didn't work when it did.

Everyone's body works differently. All medication does not work for everyone. Its the same with allergies. Talk to your doctor and let him know it doesn't work. He can prescribe something that does. Its probably your body rejecting the medicine. That's not your doctors fault. t
