Depending on how much U want to spent on it. I'll stay with Dell & HP. If U want a really cheap one, then go for Acer. Acer offers high spec for low price. Acer have a common over heat problem.

HP offers superb after sales service. What HP sells seldom have problem coz their R&D are good. Go for Pavillion series.

Dell have a great model in the market. "XPS" go check it out but keep in mind that after sales service are really lousy. Even shipment after repair would be charged.

Last words I'll go for these 2 models: HP Pavillion DV2000 or Dell XPS

I've had good luck with Dell and HP. Both have regular sales. You might want to check for "refurbished." If you are lucky you might hit them on a day when they offer free shipping. Should be a lot of back-to-school sales now.

We don't look at brand nowaday, every brand has good and bad models. You should look at the model you like .. ask yourself what are you looking for in this new notebook. from there you short list a few model from different brands. Let me know at I will help to suggest a right one. messenging me at yonggor_10h20m

I don't know about BEST, but Dell has the worst customer service I have ever dealt with. Watch out for that.
