Mavs/Spurs/Suns vs. Pistons/Bulls/Heat
It's hard 2 tell how the pistons will do without Ben Wallace. But, I think that they can fill in the gap with McDyess and Carlos Aroyo stepping up. Plus, the need to get used to having a different coach (Larry Brown did alot for them in past times and I think Flip Saunders might've been the reason they lost Big Ben) They still got Chauncy, Rip, Sheed, and Prince... DEADLY COMBINATION... but, all in all, i think the team will start to get a flow and have a spectacular season and I think Ben will be dissapointed that he won't be a part of it. *(But i am worried about how far Flip will carry the team... well, i guess we'll see how it works out when the season kicks off)*
The bulls have a good chance now because Big Ben gives them some dominance on the inside. If they had that last year, they would've came close (NOT WON, but might've got further than they did). Plus, the younger players that led their team last year are getting more experience and growing together to form a great team in the long run. Add Ben Wallace to that equation and thats a threat to any other team in the NBA. I don't know how they'll do this season, but, in a few years... the Chicago franchise might regain its reputation.
The Heat are unstopable right now with D-Wade becoming one of the NBA's Greatest players in the backourt 2day. They also have other players who have been around long enough to know more about the game than some other younger opponens (Alonzo, Payton, and Antoian Walker). They also, Pat Reily is a very experience coach. OH YEAH....I almost forgot.... DEISEL!!! lol
The Suns will have Amare Staudamire playing this year which greatly increases their chances for a Championship Ring. He owns the inside. (remember when he stuffed Timmy Duncan?) He is like Shaq and Ben Wallace all in one. Not to mention Steve Nash who deservingly got the MVP award last 2x. He is the greatest playmaker in the league.
The Mavericks have great coaching (Avery Johnson) and their team blends better than anyone else right now. plus, Dwight Howard is getting more experience and in a few years he will be a major threat. Jason Terry and Jerry Stackhouse controll the backourt, while Dirk does what he does on the inside with an occasional three. Their just an all around good team.
The Spurs have been playing together for a long time, and, Greg Poppovic knows how to make the team do well together. He can pick out certain players strong points and know how to use them to win games, which gives them a great flow. Manu Ginobli needs to play like he did 2 years ago... i think some emotional problems got in the way this past season... but, when he puts his mind to it, he could very possibly be the next MVP. Not to mention they have alot of player who can drain the outside shot
There's my 2 Cents (more like $2.00), but, well... take your pick. Its too early to make a clear decision untill I see the new Pistons and Bulls play (and see if Manu gets it together), so i guess we'll have to just wait for the season to start.
