If you want to find out how much other people are selling the same books (or very similar books) look it up on http://www.bookfinder.com/ OR http://abebooks.com/

Those are both good places to look for and/or sell books. They tend to have old books listed.

I would suggest trying to go to eBay and seeing if that same item has been sold on there. Perhaps you can get a market value for from there. After all it doesn't matter how much it is worth if you can't sell it for squat. There are also a lot of universities that are getting rare book sections added on to their libraries, perhaps they can help you. I don't know if you live in the area, but Kennesaw State University in Cobb county GA has one. I visit it frequently. It is absolutely fascinating how amazing a room full of old books is.

You can contact antique roadshow, they have a website. They also tour to different cities, so you may show your item and have it appraised, not exactly sure how that works, but its worth checking out. Be careful though, there are people out there claiming to offer appraisals and then want to buy it from you for less then the actual value. Best of luck.

Antiques Roadshow. Seriously! People bring in stuff they found at garage sales or that have been passed down in their family and find out how much it is worth. Hahah. Well, maybe you can't go on the show but their website has some good links.
