Well did you use mayonnaise? I mean many first timers forget the mayo. It's simple. But easy to forget. Yes the mayo surely makes the difference between an orgasm an a norgasm. To be honest I prefer the Hallmans variety, often products bought at Wal-Mart are unable to keep up with the extreme demand placed on the item during such hot n' steamy times. The mayo can be used as a signal, when leaking out of your partners sex, you know you're closer to orgasm, when spreading on a sandwhich, you're not even close.
remember kids, sharp eyes, broken glasses.

Ask her? Seriously, I don't understand this lack of communication between people during sex. Ask her what she likes, do it, make sure she has an orgasm, and then make sure you get yours. She should be doing the same for you. If they don't ask you what you like then tell them. Not everyone likes the same things so it's important to let your partner know what's working and what isn't.

Some of the others suggested asking the woman if she had an orgasm. According to Betty Dodson, a famous sex therapist, some women cannot identify their orgasms; they will deny having one, just after she saw them have one (in a therapy session/ coaching session).

This page describes some of the signs and symptoms of different stages of female arousal, including orgasm:

The whole site is very informative. It is not porn, but it is frank; do not open it, if that will offend you, or if pictures of genitals and nude women are illegal in your circumstances (eg in your country).

Hopefully she will be honest with you, and NOT lie (like a rug)-
If she does not reach orgasm, you can experiment to find what will give her adequate stimulation, to 'bring her off'. . .
Honesty and communication are the keys to success. . .
Best wishes in learning (lots of practice) . . .

Hard to say but certain body indicators can let you know, especially the ragged breathing.
