Interesting question, it seems to be on a lot of peoples minds this day...in the collective concession.
There are many Eastern religions that say 2012 will be the end of the world. But what does that mean exactly? In Buddhism, it is written that it will be the year of 'Mass Enlightenment' when the 'brother of the east and the brother of the west unite'.
I suppose you could say that yes, war is an integral part of human civilization and always will be. BUT, I think that soon, civilization, as we know it, will cease to exist. That doesn't mean that all people, or the planet will die. Simply that all of our concepts and beliefs will be forced out somehow and what remains will be Nirvana. (But after much suffering, and a type of world war)

we are not on the brink of world war 3 we are in the MIDST of world war 3. just look at what's been going on in all these different countries, and it's not new, it's just that now with the internet there is better coverage and people can find out what's going on faster.
Humans are the parasites of this poor planet.

1) We are in it (since Desert Storm in my opinion).
2) "Integral" is not a good word for war as it relates to civilization. It might be how you describe "liberty" or "prosperity" or innovation". A better word for war would be "insidious", as it relates to civilization.

Well, if you think about it, it truly could be. Back as far as there are records mankind has been killing each other. In the Bible, Adam & Eve's kids, Cain & Able, got into it & Cain slew Able. (FYI: Able is considered to be the 1st victim - anywhere.) Face it, we just don't like ourselves all that much or we would stop doing this, wouldn't we?
