I don't think it's a choice....why would someone choose to be gay? That doesn't even make sense. It's not like someone says..."Gosh I really like that person, but I can't act on my feelings because I just have this desire to be gay." As far the Bible goes, the self righteous crowd pick and choose what part of the Bible they follow. It also says that if you get a divorce, if you remarry, you're committing adultery. That hasn't changed the divorce rate, though!

But it is the act that is the abomination and if you understand the prohibition, it makes sense for those times
Sexual knowledge was rather thin and if was felt that a man had a finite amount of seed.
Since your tribve could be a birth away for annihilation, seed need to go where it will do the most good (a woman's womb)
This is also why masturbation is frowned on. It is a misuse of commodity.
Since men can't have babies, the act is the abomination (Don't forget hate the sin but love the sinner) but it is also sex for fun, consumed by lust.
Nowadays, it's not that big of an issue to have as many children as you can.

As growing up all you here that gay people are nasty and that it sis a choose. Well i beg to differ. My uncle was gay and so is my younger brother and all that i could remember they have always dressed and acted like a female. Sometimes it is hard to understand but if you really look into it. Maybe some where down deep in side they are a woman or a man just not on the out side , but you are right it doesn't matter if you are in love with a man or woman. I believe it is better love than not to love at all. I have always noticed you cannot help who you fall in love with it Si a natural thing so how can God judge you for the gift he gave you that is how i see it

I think it's more so of a choice, usually affected by past relationships with the opposite sex or relationships with relatives/parents/siblings of the opposite sex.
if a man was brought up by a single mother and 5 sisters, he has always been around girls and therefore is more likely to either be gay or be feminine.
sometimes if you're hurt really badly by someone, you subconsiously try to avoid someoen like that, and sometimes avoid the sex alltogether.
I don't think it's a concious choice, but a choice all the same.

being gay may not be a choice, but acting like a flamboyant, obnoxious sissy is. being gay indicates one's sexual preference. it does NOT indicate the lifestyle you CHOOSE to live. i can't stand those guys who changed the way they walk and talk just because they are open about their sexuality. what does speaking with a lisp have to do with being gay. i better stop and get off of my soapbox. i know there are plenty of gay guys who walk around all day long and give no hint of being gay. they way we act in public (other than actually showing affection) should not indicate our sexual preference in an obnoxious manner. it's just tacky. i hope i haven't described you.
followup: Chris L wrote - "Hi... Sorry thins has nothing to do with your Q.... just mine.. about homosexuality....
I don't think that you know much about flamboyant gay men.. because, men who are "flaming" have always been.... and, you dont just invent a lisp for yourself... A lisp is a speech impediment.... and someones voice tone.. sint their fault.. sorry.. : ("
wow, you're in denial. heck, YOU even used the phrase "flaming"! how can you imply that you consider that to be natural behavior? what do i need to know about flambuoyant gay men? who cares how long they've been around? the behavior is still tacky. i mean, have you ever seen a flaming straight guy? i'm not criticizing the gay aspect. and you're a fool if you believe that it's just coincidence that many flambuoyant gay guys are born with a natural lisp. those guys affect their speech purposely to sound "gay" or feminine, but it usually comes off like a lisp. you should be more observant.

i think it is a choice. i use to be in agreement with the bible that it was an abomination. but then i met a wonderful woman and she changed my mind. i made the choice to be in love with her and she with me. i agree love is precious and should be cherished. it is a great gift.

If homosexuality is a choice then I don't know why anyone would be. There are too many beautiful women in this world.

No, it's not a choice. It's just your sexual preferences, and if someone that's your same sex turns you on, then that's okay. I don't think that there is anything wrong with being a homosexual.

It is both, in a way, every animal and being has homosexual tendencies, women more so than men, but you choose whether or not you want to act on those feelings.
