Yes you can get staph infection from pacemaker wires. It can happen two ways. First it can happen during the procedure to put the pacer inside of you, and the wires being contaminated. Second, the wires can get staph from you not taking care of the sight and letting it get dirty or sweaty. If the infection is staph, you need IV antibiotics. If you don't treat it seriously, you can die. Good luck

I don't know if you mean you have an infection on your wires or whether you can get them.
Yes you can get them, and if you do I would recommend cleaning the wires with a alcohol solution.
Another thing you can do if this something that happens a lot, is to talk to your cardiologist about getting an implanted pacemaker as opposed to an external one.

I hope it is not MRSA, but if it can be cultured and the best antibiotic can be determined it shouldn't be a problem.
IV antibiotic therapy initially might be indicated to prevent pericarditis and the resulting problems.
If it is a extremely virulent bacteria, you may have to use VANCOMYCIN, or something like RIFRAMPIN.
