Average age for the first steps is 9-17 months. She's beyond that and still within that age range. It's perfectly normal.

My 14 year old daughter was 14 months before she took her first steps. She did not walk comfortably until she was around 15 or 16 months old. In fact, it was cute, when she would walk she would put her head down and walk on her hands and legs (legs upright) to see how she walked.
Don't worry that she's not walking yet. There are some real advantages to having them walk later.
1) They better understand when you tell them "no" than if they were 7 months old.
2) She is probably very skilled at other things. Babies develop in several different areas. She's probably ahead of her sister on other areas at this age.
3) Some of the brightest kids walk later in life.

It is perfectly fine for a 13 month old to not be walking just yet. My friend's first baby walked at 11 months and her last baby didn't walk until 16 months and is still not that steady. Her size shouldn't matter with walking, it is really when the baby is developmentally ready. If you are concerned, give the pediatrician a call. Good luck!

It's totally normal for kids not to walk by 13 months. Every kid is different, and crawling is REALLY good for kids...it helps them read later in life. If she doesn't walk by about 18 months, then you should be more worried. Just enjoy that she's not completely mobile yet..having 2 that can get into EVERYTHING is a real tough situation. Have a good day.

My first child was walking by 9 months and my daughter did not walk till 13 months. We chalked it up to hey being the "baby" and the fact that we lived In a larger home when we had our second child. The smaller your home the closer your furniture is together making it easier for children to start walking from one piece to another.

All babies are different...as long as she's taking a couple steps, it should be fine....I also learned to walk slower then average children....my grandma was so worried, she kept persisting my mom to take me to the doctor because there might be something wrong with my legs...of course, there is nothing wrong with my legs...i just learned to walk slower then others....just give her patience and time...don't worry about it too much....your older daughter, though, learned to walk and run at a pretty fast age...my lil niece is 15 months, and she can't run yet...she can walk though.....:)

I wouldn't worry. Every child develops at their own pace. My little brother didn't start walking until after he was 13 months.. he was just late on a few things, but now he's 4 and he can walk, run, speak and everything. Just give your daughter some time and trust me she will walk.

At this point I would not worry about it but I would also bring it up to the Dr. at her next visit. I know some little ones that are in "physical therapy" for that reason and it is no big deal. There is nothing wrong with them they just need that encouragement to get up and get going. So don't stress about it...just ask...she is still at an age where it isn't terribly concerning.

Dont worry it takes a little while somethimes. If she isnt walking by 18 M then have her checked for problems with her knees, or even a slight unoticeable bowing of the legs, also try huggies supreme diapers, i know they are more expensive but my little one seems to walk better in them, less diaper pushing on the legs. Also make sure she is prossesing calcium correctly, she may have a problem getting enough calcium, Or even not enough protien to streghthen those little legs.

My daughter did everything late. I started to worry. Took her to the doctor sevral times. They always said she was fine but I could not stop worrying. Well, she started doing everything she was suppossed to. There is nothing wrong with her. She just did things on her own time. Funny thing, she did everything later than my other kids but she potty trained earlier then the other ones and she potty trained herself too. Got up one day and wanted underwear instead of a diaper and never wore a diaper again.
