We are a mexican couple. We saw the movie, "War of The Words," In a movie theathre in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. Movie is in english with spanish subtitles.
We really like Tom Cruise's performance as a mature grown man playing the part of an American hardworking father in that movie.
We like Tom Cruise at his age right now versus when he was younger. At his age now, he is a mature grown man versus when he was a party young dude at an earlier age.
We like him now and wish he would do more Father Figure type of movies.
Well job done in the movie, "War of The Worlds," Tom Cruise!!!

I'm sick of Tom Cruise. He sounds like a control freak to me. He should stick to what he marginally good at...acting.

He should Retire he's a nutcase. John Travolta might be a Scientologist as well but he doesent proselytize the way Cruise does and in my opinion is a better actor than Cruise. Also he got it when Battlefield Earth flopped at the box he got it no one was interested in his religion. I've known people who knew both Travolta and Cruise. They say Travolta is a regular guy inspite of being a Scientologist and Cruise is an arrogant buttwad. Hey I'm a Southern Babtist but I dont jump up and down on couches saying crazy stuff about my GF. Then again I'm not like fellow Southern Babtist Pat Robertson and say a meteor is going to hit Florida if a bill doesent get passed,but then again I respect Pat Robertson and John Travolta more than looney Tom Cruise.Cruise should either retire or calm his butt down. What role on film he plays doesent matter he should just calm the heck down before he gives himself a stroke like Issac Hayes did.

Tom Cruise is NOT a good father figure. He is not a good actor now. His last good movie was Top Gun. I did want to go and see the War of the Worlds but I am not now. It all has to due with his attitude toward how all doc's who put people on drugs is wrong and how Katie Holmes had to have HER baby. YES! Her baby. She had to have her baby in the ways of HIS cult. Sorry but scientology is a cult.
Sad to say but there is NO celeb. male nowadays that makes a good father figure in real life. It will only be in movies now.

I agree, I too think that he should do more father figure role movies, he's the perfect age, and I think that him starring in the movie "War of the Worlds" was the perfect role for him, and I thought it was his best movie yet.
