Art helps us to appreciate the visual aspects of the world around us. You notice things that are different from day to day, or how light and shadow affect your surroundings and how things move etc.
Sport... Well I was never personally that interested in sport, but I have to admit that it helps to keep you active and healthy. Now I'm disabled by arthritis, the only 'sport' I can really do to keep fit is walking. But I do it... coz if I don't, I will end up in a wheel chair. So I guess what I'm saying is that any sort of sport that keeps you moving is a benefit to you.

I think all students should have the opportunity to experience both. It is a little hard to get a well-rounded education without many experiences.
