If your skin is pale, the temptation is often to get more colour in. But not in your foundation! Get a foundation that’s close to your natural colour (no matter how pale) and use a sweep of bronzer across cheeks, the bridge of the nose and the forehead – wherever the sun would naturally hit you. Don’t go for icy colours on eyes and lips, try something warmer instead. Warm corals or soft greens on the eyes look lovely, but make sure the products have a bit of shimmer, otherwise they can look cakey. Use a pinky, peachy blush for a soft, barely there finish.
Top buys: Strobe Cream skin base by MAC; Revlon Skinlights (apply to the skin before your foundation to give a healthy glow and prime skin).
Do not touch the blemish with the concealer stick or fingers - it will spread. Use a clean sponge to dot concelear that is 1 or 2 shades LIGHTER on the zit. Blend slightly. Powder and repeat if nessecary! Only add more if needed!
You have to accept that if you're going to cover up freckles, it's going to look like a mask - and I always prefer the natural beauty of the skin to show through. There is one unique product that will cover up absolutely anything, even a strawberry birthmark - Estee Lauder's Maximum Cover - but only use it if you really hate your freckles. Instead, I'd advise using a lightweight foundation mid-way between the colour of your freckles and the colour of your complexion, with concealer on the bigger age spots, if you want to disguise them. The best way to apply concealer is with an 1/8-inch brush and dab it onto the sun-spot, then set with powder. The rule is: always start with a little product, then build up. It's easier to add than take away.'

Stay away from anything that has even a hint of pink in the shade - it's the reseaon I had a hard time matching a cover-up.
My preference is Loreal Visalift liquid foundation - the coverage is great but it does tend to be thick and I mainly use it to conceal red patches from dry skin or fora special function/party. Theres also a true match - which is very light and evens out minor inconsistancies but it's not really a cover-up. Go for porcelin, most likely pale, the lightest one - I've always been compared to a porcelin doll because I'm so pale (that or a vampire *S*) and it should work.

I have the same problem! Medium red hair and very pale skin, blue eyes. Loreal True Match is the best I've ever found. It actually matches my shade. My sister is paler then I am (she jokingly says she's so white she's clear!) and she uses it too - they even have a shade that matched her! I think they make about 52 shades so you get a great match. Doesn't make you break out either. I have some light scars on my face. The coverage is great.

I started at age 14, but everybody skin type is different. If you get the occasional pimple then you can put some concealer over you blemish. If you have good skin there is no need for foundation, maybe some powder to keep your face matte and oil free.

Try using a foundation called SHE in Ivory. It is made in Australia but you should be able to find it on the Internet through eBay. I find this to be fantastic for all skin types and it is light weight but yet has perfect coverage. The actual brand name is 'SHE' Nature's Veil, Botanical Foundation ... I use it all the time and find that it's perfect for day AND night wear, and you don't need to use a concealer... I love it!

i highly recommend it, i've used it for a long time, and it matches my skin perfectly. and along with that i put on Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse (shade Classic Ivory, Light 2)
