It depends on which individual you are going to purchase it from. Just be sure to check their feedback (more positive feedback, then better.) Actually... I just recently bought the LG VX9800 off of eBay and it is working great... the eBay seller had 100% positive feedback which is always a plus. The main thing to be sure about is to see if they offer money back or something to that degree. You don't wanna buy someting expensive and then they won't gaurantee that it works or there's no oney back gaurantee. You sometimes might find yourself in a situation with eBay but for the most part you won't get ripped off if you look into what the seller is like, what product he is offering, what the products condition is, etc. Good luck to ya and I hope ya find a good working phone!

No, it's not stupid if you are cautious. I just recently sold my old cellphone on ebay, and I was completely honest about it's condition and whatnot. However, some sellers aren't so kind. Just make sure the phone you are buying is unlocked and if possible, find out the HEX number so you can determine if it will be able to be activated. Don't be afraid to ask as many questions as you need. It's better to be safe than sorry!

If you're still wary about buying from ebay, you can also buy no contract cell phones from this site: http://www.tigerdirect.com

its a very silly thing to do, it could come without a battery, or it could have been dropped in the sea. never buy electronics from ebay.

Yes....as well as buying anyother thing on ebay.

One: How do you know the cellphone isn't stolen?

Two: How do you know the cellphone actually works?
