that's sort of illegal...but from what I hear is Limewire is a popular choice

Be very, very careful. Most are loaded with spyware (the programs themselves) and if you disable the spyware, the program won't work (kazaa is one of these).

And the record companies and software companies have gotten smart and are loading viruses into the system. I stopped doing it because a large percentage of the music, and most of the software I was trying to get was full of bad viruses. Some took nearly 20 hours to clear off my computer and I know how to clean a PC myself! For someone less technically savvy, it could cost you a bundle of cash.

So it may well be cheaper to buy your music, or copy friend's CDs in the long run, unless you want to be out a couple of hundred dollars a year in tech support for your computer.

I have limewire. Works like a charm. Start with the free downloadable version. Then when you're on limewire, download the professional version off limewire.

Ares. Hands down. It doesn't slow down your computer like Limewire and it still has everything. Downloads come in way fast, too. But remember: anything you download for free is stealing. Do not get busted, please. Happy listening..(:

pretty much every program costs money. http://music.allofmp3.com/ is the program i use to download my music. its only $$10 for about 1,000 songs.

morpheus! ive had that for about 7 months and it didnt give my computer any problems.. i cant say that about limewire.. download it from www.morpheus.com

these guys have messed up with all the softwares available in the world, my idea would be to get ANY DOWNLD ACCELERATOR (DAP 8) and go to sites like okesite.com,indiamp3.com...etc.
there is a lot there
