We are all afraid of dying because we do not what to expect. We can only assume that the bible or any religions beliefs on death is real.

I personally believe in jesus, and choose to believe in an afterlife with God.

Ask God to show you the truth. God is the only one who can give you piece dealing with death.

My prayers be with you and God's blessings, peace, and assurance be with you.

I am not afraid for myself, but for my children. I would be worried that nobody could love them and be as good a mother to them as I can. I have 2 sons. One is 26. He and I are very close, and I know that he would miss me terribly. But I have another son who is 13 and has Asperger's syndrome (part of the Autism spectrum of disorders). I would really be worried that nobody else would understand him as well as I can. He went into a long depression when his grandmother died. I cannot imagine what would happen if I died.

I don't know, for sure, what happens to the soul. I don't remember ever dying before...but that doesn't necessarily mean that I haven't (in a past life). I believe that there is a "heaven". And I am a good person and a christian, and I don't think that I have done anything bad enough to keep me out of heaven.

But I also think that troubled souls stick around if they have "unfinished business". Some stay as ghosts and others are reincarnated until we learn the lessons that we are supposed to learn while we are here.

I am afraid of dying, but then again I'm not. I'm not because I have complete confidence that there is more to this than just walking around on earth. I believe upon death we move into a spiritual body and become incorruptible. We move into a different realm, Heaven if you will. Though Heaven is all around us. It's not angels and harps floating on clouds in the sky somewhere. It is a different dimension that envelops us all. That is why you sometimes feel someone behind you looking over your shoulder, but there isn't anyone there. I am afraid of dying though, because I just can't fathom that leap. It is too much for my mind to wrap itself around. What is not understood is often the most scary. I hope this helps. It is about as sincere as I could get.

I'm not afraid of dying, but the way I will die. I would prefer to die in bed in my sleep without ever waking.

The Bible states that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. 2 Corinthians 5:8 (King James Version)

Is that our soul? I don't know.

I am not afraid of dying - I am more afraid of living too long and ending up a mere vegetable in a nursing home some day. Death comes to us all so I am prepared to face it with dignity when the time comes. As for what happens to the soul after death I believe it is escorted by our guardian angels and/or spirit guides to the place where it awaits it's next assignment. I just want you all to know that the next time I have requested long legs.....LOL

I am afraid because there is a lot more I want to do.
I'm also afraid because I would leave my daughter and husband without me, and that would be so, so hard for them.
I'm afraid because it might hurt.
I'm afraid because I would feel out of control...you know...because I wasn't trying to be dead.

I really am not sure what I think happens to your soul, but I think it is possible that it either hangs around for a while, or transfers (reincarnates) to new being at birth. Can't say why, but just my gut.

Three of the 4 siblings in my house lived on the 3rd floor at different times as teens. The 3 of us independently sensed a soul living there, and all three of use saw it at least once. My sister named it, but she's dramatic that way. However, Sis, my brother and I all said it was a "he". We never discussed with each other until we were grown! My other sister and parents never experienced it because they never lived on the 3rd floor. It was interesting...

I think you reach a point in life where you feel you've been there done that. Enjoyed the good and dealt with the bad. So if it's old age that you die from then I feel it would be easier, but if your young and happy with life then I could see why you would be afraid of dying. I think your soul goes to heaven but is also in every ones hearts that you left behind.

There is a difference between the kind of fear one experiences in the face of grave danger and imminent death, and a fear of death that haunts one much of the time.

The former is normal. The latter is common, but neurotic, and a sign of spiritual immaturity.

The best way to get over a generalized fear of death is to make every effort to live a good life--as you define it.

We may have two kinds of afterlife. It is possible, though obviously unproven, that our spirit in some way continues to exist after we are dead. The second kind of afterlife is in the memories of us that are held by the people who survive us.

You can be sure that if you live your life well and are kind to as many people as possible, you will be remembered well.

To answer your question, I am less afraid of dying as I get older. I know that I will be afraid when I confront the immediate possibility--after all, it will be something I've never done before. I believe that my actions on earth will be judged, and that the kind of existence I have in the afterlife will be a result of those actions.

But heaven and hell are human constructs.

Definetly afraid! I think it's the fear that I won't be able to live my life and the fear of what comes after. I am a Christian and I've heard some people say people are religious becauseit gives death meaning. That could be true it's one of those things you never really know you just have to decide for yourself to believe, have hope and faith or simply not. Too bad those who really know are the ones who can't tell us anymore..it would make things soo much easier. I don't know about others but I know that I'm afraid dying because I don't know for a fact what will happen and that scares me. As a christian I believe in heaven and hell but I'm not going to lie about it sometimes I wonder if that really exists. So as my humanly emotions exist I think it is not the death that I fear but the fear of what happens after death.

Depends what kinda mood I'm in, somedays I think I'm ready to die and I have no fear, b/c I'm confident that what lies on the other side is a lot better then here on earth.

Other days when I'm feeling religiously guilty about how i am living (co-habitating) and what I am doing (drinking on the weekends excessively) and i start to worry that I will go to hell.

And other days when i feel like just dying I get scared and sad that i will leave my bf to fend for himself, b/c his bro died a couple of years ago when he was just 16 and i don't want him to hurt again.

I definetly believe in an afterlife though, just b/c the different systems of the earth seem to run so efficiently to be just a coincidence, and I myself feel that i am so much more then this physical body

No, I'm not afraid of dying, I'm dying everyday. I think nothing happens after you die, you are just dead....

I don't believe in the concept of a " soul " at this point in my life...but, that's still open to interpretation, as I am still looking for enlightenment.
