I don't think most Americans hate Mexicans (I certainly don't!), but there is a lot of ignorance out there about their culture and a lot of negative stereotypes. It's everywhere in movies, etc... Like in the old TV show The Lone Ranger, the Lone Ranger gets called Quimosabe (quien mas sabe - he who knows more), while his 'friend' is called Tonto (stupid).

Plus a lot of people are really misinformed about the immigration situation - they think that illegals are coming to take our jobs away, when in reality there are probably 30 million illegals here and we still don't have an unemployment problem.

Not all Americans hate Mexicans, but I understand that it's easy to feel that way. A lot of Americans are upset by illegal immigration, for various reasons, but it's no reason to be hateful towards a group of people.

I know that a lot of people say, "We don't have a problem with Mexicans, just come into the U.S. legally." That's easier said than done. If it was so easy to acquire U.S. citizenship or a visa, then people wouldn't be coming in illegally. The same thing with learning English. Yes, I think that if you want to live in the U.S., you should make it a point to learn English. However, learning a new language is not the easiest thing in the world, so I think that if someone is geniunely trying, we should really be more patient with them.

Sadly, racism is also still an issue due to ignorance. I still run into people who think it's improper for me to be dating a Mexican, because I'm white, which is really very stupid. Hopefully one day people will stop judging someone based on their race or nationality.

The most important thing though, is not to let the hateful Americans make you feel inferior or think that most Americans are like them. There's nothing wrong with being Mexican, and believe me, there are plenty of Americans who appreciate your culture. I'm sure that there are more Americans that like and appreciate Mexicans, than those that seem to hate them. The hateful ones just make more noise, so they get more attention. Just ignore them. They're not worth your time anyway.

Here we go again. How do you know that ALL Americans hate Mexicans? Mexicans are, after all, Americans too. Mexico, US and Canada are all North Americans, so your basic premise is flawed, right off the bat.
Moving on -- if you're talking about citizens of the USA, have you surveyed all of them? Do you have any polls or any statistics to show that ALL of them hate Mexicans?
Probably not, because it isn't a true statements. Some citizens of the US don't like Mexicans. Some don't like Canadians. Some don't like French. Some don't like Brits. And some Mexicans probably don't like the US citizens, the Canadians, the French or the Brits. But it's an individual thing, not a universal truth.
Some residents of the southern states are annoyed about illegal immigration, but that's a long way from hating all Mexicans.

Most Americans don't HATE Mexicans, or at least they shouldn't. What they don't appreciate is any human being coming into the country illegally. It's not fair for one type of people to come in that way and no one else. If we let everyone in America undocumented there would be pandemonium! Not all illegal immagrants are a threat to America but certainly there will be as long as illegal behavior is overlooked! I used to work with a Mexican on September 11, who actually said he was proud of Osama bin Laden!! Whether he was joking or not. Thats not funny!! Mexican or not, illegal cannot be tolerated.

We don't hate Mexicans we just hate illegal immigrants that come here to rip off the system and then go home to retire with our money. And we hate people who take advantage of our school systems for free and our hospitals for free and drive around with no license or insurance and then run away when they have an accident. And we hate the Hispanic gangs and macho attitudes and the diseases like TB and Dengue Fever they bring here from their homeland. Why do Mexicans think they can come here without permission but put their army on the southern border to keep Nicaraguans and Salvadoran from crossing into Mexico. Do you hate them?

I think they hate the fact that Mexicans enter their illegally, take up spaces in public schools, force working Americans out of jobs by working for low wages and they force the government to spend millions of their taxpayer money. After all of that wouldn't you be a bit upset. Hate is not the right word, upset is.

Well ya see they let all the illegal imigrants come over here and how do we know if they are terrorist or not. The border is not well enough petroled and a terrorist could just walk over. Where I live there are three mager dams and they could blow these dams and kill over six thousand people. This would make 9/11 look like nothing. Think of the fear this would put in the people in of america. I have nothing against mexicans but I think they need to petrole the borders better and do background checks.

Okay, let's lay this out one more time. Americans do not hate Mexicans. We have a problem with law breakers. Hence the term ILLEGAL immigrants. Tell me, why do Mexicans hate Guatemalans? I think we treat the illegals we catch with a lot more justice and respect. At least they aren't shot on site.

Americans do not hate Mexicans. We are worried that so many have come into our nation illegally. We are not able to continuely support, the large numbers who come illegally, with medicade,food stamps,housing,jobs, education. It takes time to be legal and it takes America time to have everything you need in place when you get here. The illegals are overcrowding the school systems and there are not enough Spanish speaking teachers to handle so many nonEnglish speaking students. I know because I worked on a teaching team with the only Spanish speaking teacher in a school of 800 studentsl I had a very hard time teaching the reg. kids and be able to help the nonEnglish speaking or limited Eng. speaking students. How do you teach science and social studies to a room(up to 35 in one room& 75-80 students each day) full of Mexican students and a handful of Amer. students when you yourself can't speak Spanish? I did my best to help them and they appreciated me but I felt like they were not getting enough and the other students were not getting enough either!I was stretched to my limit! We are not happy that illegals can recieve our Social Security when we may not have enough now for those who have worked for it their entire adult lives.The drugs coming in is also a HUGE problem. I realize that all illegals don't bring it but it opens the doors for so many that it is hard to catch the drug dealers. Why don't you guys set up a committee to stand guard and keep the drug dealers and illegals on your side of the border and then you won't have to wonder why Americans are not happy with so many illegals entering.You catch them and give them a punishment/jail time for hurting your country's good name. Also you need to make some of the well-educated illegals and legals come back home and make your county worth living and working in. I'm stopping for now but I hope you get the point!
