The anatomical definitions are:

Abduction - moving a part away from the midline (lifting the arm horizontally).
Adduction - moving a part toward the midline (returning the arm to the side).
Flexion - bending a part at a joint so the angle between them is decreased and the parts become closer together (bending the leg at the knee).

You got the adduction and abduction right, but not the flexion. It sounds like you're describing "circumduction" (moving a part so that it's end follows a circular path such as moving a finger).

The thumb touching the side of the palm is adduction, being at right angle to the palm is abduction while touching the finger tips is opposition.

I have an idea. Why not look up adduction, abduction, and flexion in the dictionary?

I believe that all of them are right when you use the axial terms of reference. (the other choice is in the sagittal plane medial of the thumb.)

3 and 4 are for sure with whatever the terms are you use.
