Canada - USA

These two teams have met in many knockout games, particular in the finals, of youth championships, women's Olympic hockey, men's Olympic hockey and world championships.

And Canada owns them. :)

Canada-Russia would be the guess for most North Americans
but Sweden and Finland would have to be the biggest rivally in hockey as well as the Nordic skiing events (jumping, cross country and biathalon). They hate but respect each other. Take a look at some of the crowds they had for the cross country skiing events in Lillehammer in 1994, it was their version of the Super Bowl and the Indianapolis 500 rolled into one.

Canada USA is a decent rivalry but it doesn't have the same passion among the fans that Sweden-Finland has

That is a hard question because USA, Canada get the most publicity the last 10 years. After the last two world championships and olympics, i'll take Sweden and Finland hands down. They play the most exciting brand of hockey too because the majority of the players player in Europe and not the NHL. The NHL is still the best league but when you compare world rivalries its different.

As far as intensity, it has to be Sweden and Finland now as both teams hate each other.

Maybe back when the USSR existed it was Canada-USSR but now it seems Canada never meets Russia in any semis or Finals.

My guess a lot of people will say Canada-USA but the atmosphere in the rink is not all that intense compared to the days of Canada-USSR. It's intense, don't get me wrong, but it just doesn't have the same fervor.

Russia-Czech Republic

There is a lot of bad blood between the two countries because of the Soviet Invasion of Czechoslovakia in 1968 and the hatred comes out on the ice. In the 1970's this used to be some of the dirtiest international hockey you'd see.
