I have been fascinated as of late by the effect salt has on
bacteria and micro organisms. Does high salt concentrations
have the same effect on Parasites( worms)?

one of the earliest forms of food preservation was to put it is salt. The high salt concentration effects the osmotic pressure inside the cell. Moisture is drawn from inside the cell to the salt. This greatly reduces the ability for the bacteria and other organisms to grow.

Laboratory results in both California and Slovenia have simultaneously and independently concluded that high salt concentrations randomly exclude one another on parasites and bacteria. The results will be published later this summer and there is much excitement in the parasitic and bacterial communities.
