As a family the Bachs were more prolific, but Mozart was awesome. You get smarter by listening to certain pieces of Mozart, come on what does Bach have to compare with that? My favorite Bach is C.P.E. Carl Phillip Emanuel.

Neither one is better than the other. Is apple pie better than peach pie? Is blue better than red?

The Bachs were more numerous so the amount of music produced by them is greater. Mozart only had his father and himself that did any composing - maybe an uncle, too?

And of course, the styles of composition were different. But both JS Bach and WA Mozart were geniuses.

If you're asking about J.S. Bach versus W.A. Mozart....I like playing Bach's music more, but love listening to Mozart...it's just a pain to play well.

It's hard to say, because they represent different periods of music. Bach - the Baroque Period (1600 to 1750)
Mozart - the Classical Period (1750 to 1825)

Bach's music, and that of the period is more linear and polyphonic (many melodies). Mozart's music reflects the classical period in that it is homophonic (one melody, harmonic accompaniment).

Both are geniuses. When I'm responding to music with my mind, I like Mozart; when I respond with my heart, I prefer Bach.

They were both masters, but I think Mozart was better, he could learn to play a song in 30 minutes... when he was 4!!

I am most definitely more of a Mozart fan-though I think Beethoven had them all beat!
