No, it doesn't. Initially, the Reds name was "Red Stockings", but was changed to Reds. During the Communist scare during the '50s, the team name was change to Redlegs, in order to avoid being associated with Communism. When the Cold War was on the downside, the team name went back to Reds. They weren't the first "professional" team, but they were the one of the first two teams (the other being the Cubs) that were in the National League.

Yes. It does. Long before the Soviet Empire collapsed and as they were spying on the US with spies here in America, they new if the worst came to pass and they needed to retreat to some safe haven here in America, that Americas favorite past time would be one place no one would suspect of being infested with spies. So the Soviets began warming up to the Cincinnati baseball team with this goal in mind. Being located in the midwest was another big draw for choosing the Reds.
Rumour has it, if you take apart a baseball from a Reds home game, and turn the leather cover inside out, it will be marked as having some ties to the Soviet Union. It has also been rumoured, many of the vendors at the Reds home games speak Russian and might accidentially give you change in rubels if they reach into the wrong pocket.
Maybe the biggest surprise in all this is that the hot dogs served at the Reds games is actually made from what comes out of the south end of a Russian bull when he needs to deficate, and is heading north, just like this entire response.

No. Their team name comes from the early Cincinnati Red Stockings, a professional team that began playing professionally in 1869 but had been in existence for several years. (At the time, it was common for team names to be a reference to their uniforms.) The association of the color red with Communism didn't start until the revolution in Russia in 1917.

The original official name of the team is the Cincinatti Red Legs. Nothing to do with communism.

No, because that stands for the color of their socks. There were no commies ( or at least as powerful as they were later) in the 1870s when the Reds began play.

No it does not. The Reds got their name from the socks that they used to wear; they were red.
