My soon to be ex-husband sent the message to one of my best guy friends because he thinks that there is something going on between me and my best friend. While there is a connection there we are waiting until the divorce is final before we take it anyhwere. But this is what my soon to be ex told him:
Subject: in time
Body: in time you will know why i'm here, in time all things will past away in time you may come back some day to live once more to die once more. but in time your time will be no more...
you can't out run the devil, if you tried.
you know who this is and in time your will be no more.
******' navy mother ******
My friend and I believe it to be a threat against his life. But what can we do about it? Because my soon to be ex is currently overseas because his reserve unit was activated so we really can't press charges against him because he is protected but any other suggestions?
The reason I am divorcing him while he is overseas is becasue he already has

a history of being physically and emotionally abusive in front of the child we share. I have never went out on him because unlike my soon to be ex I believe that our child should be able to do as I do and not only as I say.

Your husband sent your friend song lyrics.
In Time by Mark Collie.
You and your friend believe it to be a threat on his life and that is the important issue at hand.
You do have an advantage. You know if he will act on the percieved violence.
You have a situation where the outcome is predictable. You are in a position that gives you insight to his behavior. You know that he cannot do you harm in the imminent future since he is out of the county.(so you have time) You know that he has been abusive and violent in the past. You have those past experiences to rely on.
Point being you have already used this information and believe him to use violence.
A TRO (restraining order) wont do you much good since he isnt even in the country. I suggest you contact your attourney for guidence and possible ways to deal with this. I do suggest you handle your buisness as much as possible before he returns from Iraq.

If you have this message on paper, and can prove that it came from your "soon to be ex" husband, then take it to the police if you feel it is a threat to your friends life.
Let the police decide if it is a threat to your friends life, and what action you should take, and what action the police can take.
Your "soon to be ex" husband is protected now, but will he still be protected when he returns? If the police won't do anything, then watch your backs, and be prepared for the worst.

Well to tell you honestly he hasn't really did anything yet I suggest make copies of everything and everything that continues after the fact contact the local police if he calls document all times and numbers and sadly to say plan to move because if he's not in jail he's probablys gonna keep coming. I know it's hard but look at it this way you actually get a new life with the one you want to be with one last tip leave everything unlisted

It sounds like he is upset maybe for being away from you . So he is expressing himself since he is gone. Put I would not take that litely, I would take it to the police, even thought he is away, Let them know what is going on, They can keep a record of you reporting this. That way if something else should develpe , they have it there. Don't answer him but thru your attyorney. He can file the papers and do the necessary things Good Luck Pem.

It's a threat for sure. You could probably get a restraining order set up right before your ex-husband gets back into the states. Also, remember that your husband is under a great amount of stress right now and the divorce news probably has him on the razor's edge.

document everything. go to the police and file a report even if you can't press charges. you will need it later. if he continues to make threats consider getting orders of protection.

Why do you think he's protected? If he wrote this down, take it to the MP's. (military police) Also get a restraining order.
