Absolutely not! The Employer has to make sure that all their employee's make mininum wage. The tips are theres period. The only time an employer should be getting involved is

A) The waiter is not making enough tips and they have to suppliment them to make mininum wage

B) The waiter is not declaring enough tips and then they need to document every cent.

I worked for a company years ago, that had you put all the tips in a pot and divided them equally.

If they do that quit.

I made more in tips than the little high schoolers who chatted with each other in the back and did nothing. Then I had to give them my hard earned money.

The only ones you should share tips with is the busboy and cook. Let the other waitresses earn their own.

I've always heard that they get to keep the tips. Maybe some places have a percentage thing but they can't just take all their tips. They don't get paid hardly anything to begin with, the tips should be theirs.

To the boss? No
Sometimes you have to split your tips with the busboys and such.
