I'm sure there are hundreds of other likely cantidates, even compressed air would work. I was looking at a spray deodorant can, and after spraying some ants around my house, at a can of Raid, and both contained petroleum distillates. The internet is full of information and stories, hence the information super highway nickname, so 5 good minutes would lead to a pluthera of stories about accidents such as this. Take for example, high school kids showing off by lighting mists of Axe deoderant on fire. How does this end? Not to well. The propellant is eventually ignited fast enough for the flame to catch up and eventually engulf the flammable material inside, causing a huge fireball. Accidents such as this can be stopped, why aren't they being stopped? If petroleum distillates have a different purpouse, but can be replaced, please tell me. Thanks!

Actually my stupid "former" friend mentioned lighting cans of axe on fire.

the reason petroleum distallates are used is because they are liquid under pressure but expand rapidly when used. you can put much more of it into a can than you can safely compress air. They also dont deplete the ozone layer like CFCs do. as far as kids lighting themselves on fire...that's just Darwinism at its fullest...

Never happened to me...

One time though, a friend lit another one of my friends on fire lol, while he was sleeping they sprayed probably about an entire can of axe on him and lit it... hehe, nice way to wake up (he wasn't hurt).

*edit*
It's fun, you should try it (nice blue flame).
