It seems like some people can't get passed it-they kinda like stuck in a hole. This world is wide open for black people. If I was younger I would be in school or finished and in a good job. Most of these people today just want to hang out. I don't know where they get their money from. Right now=school is free.

That depends on why they bring it up bringing it up, doing it just because may be annoying to some people.
But talking about black history is not, fact of the matter is some people just don't want to hear about that time in history. However If you are going to talk about the history of the black race it would be literally impossible to tell our history without the mistreatment towards blacks. Civil rights era in the 1960's or slavery or free or bond you can NOT at anytime discuss the history of blacks without the mention of the mistreatment by others.
Blacks have already lost their true history beause others didn't think blacks needed one. Now if you forget the only history that you have ever known then you have no history. Now if you forget it because some people don't like to hear about then you lost your history, because if you remove all the oppression blacks face during their history then that cost you 300+ years of it.

yep. Of course it was wrong, and it never should have happened, however it has been abolished for a very long time, and its time to move on. Odds are nobody online is/was a slave. You are gonna get a lot of crazy responses on this one, prepare yourself, lol. My great grandfather was born into slavery, and I still can't stand hearing about it. I'm not black, maybe thats what drives me the craziest. People automatically assume all slaves were black, so I guess its just the stupidity associatied with it that gets annoying.

What "MOST" people don't realize about slavery is that it still effects black people today. Ever heard of the "Willie Lynch" theory he had a doctrine that still causes many problems for US as a race of people. In summary his theory was divide and conquer, the house slave against the field slave ,the dark skinned against the light skinned ,the young against the old. Families were ripped apart, lives destroyed. If I"m preaching "SO BE IT" Mistakes were made ,when you dont learn from your mistakes youre "DOOMED" to repeat them

I hate the concept of slavery but I won't apologize for the actions of idiots who lived 300 years ago, and used slaves.

I find myself doing that sometimes, and yeah, I can tell I'm getting annoying. I guess I just really thought it was wrong. It does get annoying though.

The only time I've heard it brought up, was during history class in school and in old books, that were written in that time period. Where have you heard it brought up?
