I found lots of old national geographic, readers digest, life and time magazines in my grandparents old house. they are in fairly good condition and I was just wondering if there is anything i can do with them or should i just throw them out? one of the time magazines is from July 31, 1939. I am not real sure what to do with them. I am not out to make money necessarily, but if someone wanted to buy and sell at a higher price, i would be glad to sell them.

Unfortunately magazines aren't worth trying to sell. You can't very well sell them for how much they are worth in the store otherwise people would rather go to the store to buy them. So that means you'd have to knock off a couple of dollars to make it worthwhile. Also, since new magazines are published on a monthly basis nobody is going to want to buy last month's magazine or a magazine from a couple of months ago.

From my experience eBay isn't the best bet for selling books and magazines. Try an antique co-op store. Someone might sell them for a percentage. Check out some antique street fairs .. some dealers specialize in these and you might make a deal.

Yahoogroups. Almost every area has a Yahoogroup that is one to sell things in your area. People DO buy things like that but you may have to offer them more than once to find the person.

Try eBay...If not, hold on to them. If you keep them in good condition, think of how much they'll be worth in another 20 years.

donate them to a local school. art teachers love to have old magazines for reference and pictures to draw.
