with all respect to the thousands of ppl who perished on 9/11/01 it's been almost 5 years, and already there is a movie out. does anyone else think this was too soon? i know the proceeds from the movie will go to help ppl affected but it bothers me that hollywood chose this route this soon. Prior to 9/11 the biggest attack on our soil was at pearl harbor...and look how many years it took to make that movie (over 50)

not saying that they should wait 50 years, but i mean geez, there are ppl who are still unaccounted for, and it's still fresh in the victims families minds. It just seems inappropriate. They can raise money for the victims families in other ways

Obviously there are ppl responding who aren't from the NYC area. Not to say the rest of the country didn't feel it but new yorkers felt it stronger. take the oklahoma city bombing for instance, it didn't hit me until i was actually in Oklahoma. same concept. and I DO NOT consider this a tribute, it just seems like ppl exploiting a tradegdy for financial gain.

I have no desire to see any movie that is about 9/11. It will cause a lot of pain and misery.

5 years...! what took them so long? i'm serious.this is america, if you can find something to exploit for financial gain.. go for it. whether that's the same as all those people who owned a business to run out and fly the american flag so they could look good, i made sure i didnt' buy any after 9-11,(i already had one hanging in my living room anyway) then you had people who printed it on a t shirt to sell it to make money when they couldn't have made any money before 9-11 selling usa t shirts with flag printed on it.they are no different, and they didn't do anything wrong either, this is america if you can find a way to make money, more power to you.

The only people that can answer that question are those who lost loved ones in the disaster. Believe me, the producers and backers of that film did a lot of homework, made a lot of phone calls and personal visits to many of those loved ones before any decision was made. the last thing Hollywood wants is to invest millions in a film that could cause any backlash and a chance at loosing at the box office.
Most of those loved ones contacted responded in the positive, as long as it was done in a tasteful manner. Very, very few had any objection and none objected to the timing of the film.
I can not answer your question. Only the loved ones of those who died that day have the right to answer. It appears they have, and they do not feel it is too soon.

No, the nation needs to start dealing with its grief. If they did wait 50 years, people would still say it was too soon. And, documentaries about 9/11 are coming faster than we can see them. How is that different?
