Possibly as a neighborhood carrier but nothing else.

It's against the law to hire a child because of child labor laws. However, there are other routes for part-time jobs. One being a newspaper route, baby sitting, cleaning yards, dog sitting/walking and pet watching. There are many options to take however, I would only do this with a trusted adult like your parent/guardian. Also, talk to your parent/guardian and see if you can do internship at their work. The reason people will say a person under 16 is too young to work in a store setting is often you're dealing with the direct public--which can be quite nasty. Oh, and if word gets around that a young person is working there more people will try to take advantage of that person (in many different ways...). So, there is a good reason for not getting a job in a store. You seem ambitious and I stress talking to a trusted adult for advice and help. You'll do fine and remember to write out the goals you're trying to get to and ask yourself why you need money this badly. Good luck.

NewspaperS hire 13 year olds to deliver the paper. If you're interested in writing for the paper, make an appointment with the Editor of the Community or Local type section and go in and talk to them. You could also start with the free local rags that advertise cars and houses and the like.
Before you go - work on your grammar.

My son had a route last year - he was 10
If you want to write, I doubt it unless it's a small town one and you knew somebody.
Don't be disappointed if you can't write right away.
Write here for practice and maybe write stories at home. I write stories with my 13 year old daughter, I write a paragraph then she does.We keep going back and forth till we have a story.
Don't ever give it up if you love it. You just maybe a top reporter someday.
The person above me has a great idea too.
Good luck and
Good life to you.

If your writing is adequite you should take a portfolio to the editor.. I would suggest bringing your parent/gaurdian along as well, just in case they dont take you seriously... Just in case they dont.. try starting a school newspaper, your teacher can get you the computer software... I started a news paper at my school when I was your age, and I found that easy, and fun to write for... In the end, in this industry, age doesnt matter skills, and talent does.. If you've got what it takes go for it....

Usually they do. The parent/guardian would have to call the newspaper place and ask.

nope...
they might print something you write, if its good
but as for getting a job...pretty sure there are some child labor laws abt that
UNLESS you want to run the paper route, then they might hire you
