no, because it isn't marriage

Marriage is the transfer of ownership of a female from her male parent or guardian to another male for his use in breeding. Church and State got into the business for the cash. Yes there have been modifications to the historic nature of marriage as given above and these very changes make same sex marriages as viable as common law marriages and divorce. The Church just doesn't want to accept the fact that these marriages will not produce a next generation of minds to be brainwashed. And in this case the Church still controls the State even thought they are officially separated. What exactly was Paul anyway besides a misogynist?

Gay marriage should, and will, remain. I think that as a society, that boasts freedoms that other countries do not have, should stand behind their ideologies. What made our society great was a first step into the unknown. It was a right step towards evolution. Things like gay marriage is only another step. Regardless of what may lay down the line, I believe it is in the right direction. Love shouldn't have to explain itself to phantoms in the sky and blind followers. As a free society, we push for acceptance of all races and colours. But a denial of two peoples love for each other, that rings too much of outdated religious beliefs. For humanity to move forward, we need to accept change.

I believe, since church and state are supposed to be separate, and because the government makes me pay to get a license to be married they can't define marriage as having to be a union between one man and one woman. Any law that states that violates the constitution because it alienates a specific demographic and is based on certain religious beliefs. Marriage should be governed by religious institutions-and if any want to recognize the union of same sex partners then its their prerogative. Just because I don't condone what happens in the privacy of their home (also protected by the constitution) that doesn't provide me the righteous authority to persecute them in any way, shape,or form.

Yes because gay/lesbian people are no different than straight people, therefore, gay/lesbian people should have the right to get married. I'm a straight female, but I can't stand for cities and states in America that ban same-sex marriage. It is wrong, cruel, and unfair to so many people who just want to marry their significant other. I hope that someday same-sex marriage is legal nationwide.

Marriage is not a religious institution. Its a government right. Separation of Church and state = no reason not to let us get married. That easy.

Morality has no say in it. If it DID, then straight PEOPLE would not be allowed to get married because 50% of them get divorced, cheat on their spouses and physically and emotionally abuse them.

Yes. I mean, this is also the same gov't that a century ago wouldn't let Blacks and Whites marry. Prejudice is prejudice, but America was built on the basis of "Land of the Free". So let the gays marry, let them be, well, merry and gay!

Yes there should. Love is love. People cannot control who they fall in love with. Plus if you aren't gay then why is it such a big deal? You know? People who aren't gay should not worry about if gay people are getting married. Live and let live. Get over it. It's happening!
