Definetly "The Twilight Zone".
TV Guide refers to it as "The most imaginative 30 minute show in TV history".

Second on your list would be "Night Gallery".

I thought Rod Serling was a TV pioneer genius. Not only his writing & production, but even his television personna eerily took you to another realm.

The Twilight Zone was so clever and bizarre. There was also "The Outer Limits"...it would start off with your television screen all messed up. As you would get up to adjust your set, the voice on the screen would say.." Do not try to adjust your t.v.set. We control the vertical . We control the horizontal." There was more but I can't remember it. It was a bit un-nerving to hear that.

the Outer Limits!!!!

come on doesn't the beginning just draw you in, it gives me shivers with the cool music behind it!!!!

"There is nothing wrong with your television set. Do not attempt to adjust the picture. We are controlling transmission. If we wish to make it louder we will bring up the volume. If we wish to make it softer we will tune it to a whisper. We will control the horizontal. We will control the vertical. We can roll the image, make it flutter. We can change the focus to a soft blur, or sharpen it to Crystal clarity. For the next hour sit quietly and we will control all that you see and hear. We repeat: there is nothing wrong with your television set. You are about to participate in a great adventure. You are about to experience the awe and mystery which reaches from the inner mind to ... the outer limits"

Alfred Hitchcock Presents was a very good show, but my favorite would have to be Twilight Zone....mainly because it brings back alot of memories from childhood watching it sitting with my dad so 'he' wouldn't be scared. :-)

Tales from the Crypt. It was a great show, why isn't it on that list?
There are episodes that I haven't seen since the early 90's that still freak me out.

Check out the DVDs, Season 2, Disc 2 ("The Ventriloquist's Dummy") and Season 4, Disc 2 ("Strung Along")
