I would bring this up with your Obstetrician right away. There is a condition called incompetent cervix which can lead to miscarriage in the second or third trimester. They can close the open cervix with stitches to prevent this problem. What you're feeling may be perfectly normal, but its better to have this checked out to be sure.

First of all - Congratulations!! Hope you WANTED to become pregnant?
Anyway - as you seem to expect your periods by tomorrow (if you were not pregnant) the cervix can be open a little. During pregnancy the cervix is softer than usually.
But you also must be careful during the first few months as many women may have a miscarriage. And then the cervix really opens and you lose the child. Hope that this won't happen to you.
The first few weeks you may feel a little morning sickness - most women feel this. But when the first three months are over you will feel great until the belly gets to the biggest before birth. At the end of pregancy you wish to have a smaller body then.
Anyway, good luck for you and the baby! Watch out for pains and/or bleedings though which mean an emergancy and all the best for the birth to come in mid April 2007 (guess should be around April 16th???).

The indent is where the opening is (the surface of the cervix looks sort of like the tip of a penis). It will never be completely smooth and flat, even though nothing in your uterus can come out at this point. It sounds normal, but if you are concerned go see your OB-GYN. As long as you don't have any bleeding, everything should be fine.

It is normal for the cervix to feel a variety of different ways when first pregnant. I charted mine, and it was low, soft and creamy mucous covered it when I got my first + HPT.
I would agree that with the woman above me, and now that you are positively pregnant, stop feeling your cervix. When you are trying to concieve and charting for ovulation it is ok, but you don't want to give yourself an infection, you don't want to mess with the cervix right now. Your cervix is busy doing a job (storing mucous for a "plug" to protect your baby) and it is best that if you have concerns when you have your first Doc appt and pap smear (usually the same appt) you ask questions then.
You can find out tons of answers and ask tons more to *a different crowd of women* at www.twoweekwait.com.
They are really nice there, and helped me through my conception and beginning pregnancy days.

First congrats on your pregnancy.
Second, what are you doing, feeling your own cervix? Wow, how can you reach up there that far?
Third, your cervix should be closed through the whole pregnancy, but remember its made of human tissue while is soft and pliable. So if you palpated enough, you can wiggle your little finger in there to make it feel a little open.
I suggest you talk to your OB though. Also, I suggest not touching your cervix for multiple reasons. 1) Stimulating the cervix can cause dilation and thus premature labor (or miscarriage), 2) your hands have millions of germs on them and as much as your wash, you are still pushing more germs up into your vagina and thus exposing your babe to it. Docs will always recommend being quite careful about what you enter into your vagina while you are pregnant to ward of infections that can cause probs for babe or premature labor. So BE CAREFUL!

I could be wrong but I thought when your pregnant your cervix stays open a bit and it keeps the same consistensy cm as when you ovulate. It also stay higher just like during ovulation but again this is only what I have read, I think everyone is different...

It get plugged by mucus that comes out before labor. The cervix is a slit and it doesn't feel completely "closed" to the average person but it is.

CONGRATULATIONS!
Your cervix should not be open, but then again it is possible that your cervix points in a different direction and it feels like it might be open.If this really concerns you,go to your OB-GYN and tell her, only she can reassure you.
