Babies this age are learning about their bodies. Chewing on their tounges, finger, lips, and anything else they can get into their mouths is not only normal, but healthy. They are learning about textures and the feel of things.

Don't worry, be glad that your child is exploring whatever is in her reach.

she is teething. It's not 2 early for her to teeth. My son started teething at 2 months and broke his first tooth at almost 4 months.

No, it is NOT normal for a baby to chew on her tongue.
Please take her to your doctor to find out what is going on.

My daughter chews on her tongue, so does her daddy and her great grandpa....I take it its genetic, find out if any of your relatives does this.

My daughter is still doing this at 8 months. The doctor said it was fine.

Babies like to suckle. They naturally do this for comfort. Try giving your child a pacifier, this may help.

watchin oprah other day...some baby had no feeling...u could punch her and she wouldnt feel it...the baby also kept bitin her tongue nd couldnt feel it...possibly ur baby has the same disease?
