Soy contains pherimones or hormones that are close in relativity.
When you consume too much soy it can cause your thyroid to act up.
Some symptoms are heart palpitations, weight gain and several others.

In men, if they consume too much soy products, it can cause female like growth, ie. the chest can enlarge like a womans is naturally.
Soy is not good for the thyroid when eaten in excess. If you notice changes in how your body reacts after eating or drinking soy products, chances are you should not be drinking/eating it.

My son is a Vegan and he has soy only once a week.
Confirmed by doctor, but not sure if I explained it well for you.
