You don't work to make money. You work because you love what you do, and you want to leave your mark on earth by accomplishing something great. If celebrities (or anybody) work just to make money, then they will never be happy. I mean this is not a smart question at all.
And also, when you hear that an actor gets paid $20m, only about $8 million goes into their pocket. With the agency fees, manager, and the IRS dues, it is not as large as you think. $8 million is a lot of money but it leads back to what I said... you do it cause you love doing it.
Also I just read your "best answer" to when you sleep and wake up, it sometimes feel like your arm is dead. Sorry, but the answer you chose is wrong. It happens to me sometimes. The first guy had a better answer. If you sleep in a position that disallows blood from flowing freely in one part of the arm for a very long period of time, when you wake up, it will take some few minutes to let the blood circulation flow freely in that arm. This can also happen when you are awake. Sometimes, I sit on the floor with my legs crossed for a long time inhibiting the blood flow, when I get up, I just fall when my leg(s) is dead. Is just sometimes, the position we are in does not allow blood to flow through our body properly. It has nothing to do with the type of job we are in or if we are exercising before we go to bed. If that guy was right, people like construction workers will be waking up like that every morning. (Actually, Princess 786900 had the best answer in my opinion)

Perhaps they love the stage more than the money. You generalize...many of them are very much into philanthropy and not all live in mansions. What is money for? Money makes money and you only need so much. Yes, it is you. Find another cause...being a critic is easy. It doesn't take a lot of thought. If you had a mansion, you'd need a staff to keep it up. Ever try cleaning a whole house by yourself? Day in and day out?

After you reach a certain point financially where your assets will allow you to live comfortably for the rest of your life, people either turn their attentions to being philanthropic or in becoming the best in their chosen field. Take, for example, Bill Gates. He plans to use his billions to further improving the health of third world nations' people and our libraries here in the U.S. (as much as we hate the guy for throwing Microsoft on us...). He and his wife are devoting more of their time to philanthropy rather than business.
On the other hand, celebrities such as Michael Jackson, just keep spending their money lavishly on themselves, going on buying sprees. This is probably because they are lonely and empty inside and the act of buying fills this void. It is also that that at this asset level, most people begin to lose sight of how ordinary people live. This is because, by being so rich, one needs to protection in the form of living in a house that is walled and guarded and you can't simply go out to eat without being noticed and potentially harassed by photographers and autograph hounds. But they continue working as they've developed a lifestyle that demands an extremely high level of income to support.
In actuality, most of us could "feel" extremely wealthy as long as we had all our bills paid and no long term or short term liabilities (mortgage, utiility bills, credit card bills, etc.) and the ability to just buy something without hemming and hawing over it. In my opinion, this would take about $1 million to do currently (after a house is paid off and money set aside for utilities). $1 million, if invested conservatively, would return, at the very least, 5%, which would be $50,000 a year. After taxes on that, you would have at least half that -- $25,000. That would amount to a bit over $2,000 a month is purely disposable income. This, of course, is assuming no kids! $2,000 a month purely disposable income would make most of us feel "rich", I believe. Some out there may need more!

I would do the same thing if it was me. You only get to go around once in life, so why not? There's alot you could do to help a lot of people, and leave the rest to your kids when ya get tired of spending!

Celebs. are actually artists of their own craft. Dedicated artists care about their careers and don't use money or other assets as a measure of talent.
