I found 1,000 on the ground while i was cleaning up the neighborhood . i stashed it in my closet but i dont?

If you are talking $1,000 I would say take it down to a copy machine and copy it all. Then take it down to the police department and turn it in as found, leaving your name and address so if no one claims it within a certain amount of time it is legally yours. The police will contact you when that time runs out. The copying of the money is just so you have a good story to tell if someone does claim the money.

why the heck did you stash it if you don't want to keep it? you should have waited around there to see if someone might look for it or something just to give you the right to own it if you want to. but it looks like you don't want it so now why did you ever stash it in your closet?!

what else can you do with it it's yours already, unless you hear someone's looking for a thousand around the neighborhood then you go give it back to that person.

ASSUMING it was 1,000 cash, it could be Drug Money.

I'd be handing it to the Police - and (by Oz law) if it's not claimed within a set period of time you can legitimately claim it.

if you feel a conscience about it then go to the police and see if anyone is looking for some money. or put an ad in the newspaper. or just keep it and buy a mutual fund. be thankful. or send it to me and i will buy me a mutual fund.. lol

Take it to the police and if no one claims it after a certain amount of time it's yours...I assume you are speaking of money

well u should turn it in..it could belong to someone who needs it very much.to pay for their place to live.or medical bills..it could be the last bit of money and elderly person may have.u never kno...but think of it this way...what if it was ur money that u lost...wouldnt u hope someone descent came by and turned it in?

I would keep it... Finders...Keepers... Money was lost anyone would say Hey it was mine. But if it was in a wallet with a return address I would give it back

depends on what you found it in. try to return it to the owner. it really depends on how you found it and where it was. after you can keep it if nobody claims and you dont have to feel guilty
