I need honest answer....

Guys are selfish and often forget iimportant dates. From time to time, you should remind him and ask him questions about important date.
When you ask him more, then he will remember it more clearly. Another way is that before 2 weeks of the important date, you tell him first. Then he sure will remember.

Does he hava a good excuse (work has been crazed, he's been sick, his mother is in the hospital, etc)? If so, I guess I'd give him a gentle reminder and a day to make it up to me. If he just "forgot" I'd think very hard about whether this is a one-time thing or if it's a sign of a bigger problem -- like he doesn't care about things that are important to you.
At the very least, I'd expect a MUCH better birthday present and a BIG apology!

I would be really sad. But then again guys tend to forget special days like our b-days or anniversaries.
