I think it is because there are a lot of kids on here plus I think people in general aren't nice anymore. I agree with your statement and I also agree that I could care less if someones balls are itching. Way to take a stand and be a man.

There are many out there that do care, but are too scared to voice there opinion because of ridicule, because they don't have the ability to answer quick fire questions, hence less discussoins plus also you'll get difference of opinions which leads to war.. so why go there.
Discussions about child abuse.. my opinion.. lock em away forever, I really don't want to live in a world where there is that fear & pain.. but I have to- I have no choice, unless the rules change.
The elderly???????... I think more people should take note of this, but unfortunately they don't! thats a shane.. one day they will be elderly too.! I just live in the hope that there are people still like you expressing a passion, a care. There is so much wrong doing in this world!!! My grandparents lived through ww2,like we live through what we do now. It may not affect us all literally, but we've all experienced heartache and pain & if we haven't we will one day -a fortuatous blessing of media you might say.
The unfortunate people in this world... my heart breaks for them.. I hear of the usa france the uk striving hard, i hear of talks of trying to bring peace about in israel and lebanon in the middle east, after all would you want your loved ones to suffer as these do. It has to start somewhere. Our governments advise us of te best course of action, they get it right &sometimes wrong, we're all human. Could I forgive someone if I lost my one day old baby thru war? could you? Forgiveness is hard to come by. If you cant or won't there will always be war.
And if people ridicule what I say... I really don't give a damn... I don't want a fight

Honestly I do care, very much so, but you can only talk about things that are sad and depressing for so long before you become depressed or hopeless, and if we are all "sad" and "hopeless" then who is going to have their heads on straight long enough to come up with solutions to fix the horrible things in this world. Its ok to laugh it doesn't mean that you are selfish. Sometimes the best way to solve a problem is to take a step back instead of constantly stewing over it. If you are looking for people on this site to care, I think you are looking in the wrong place, I agree that there are just too many kids on here and they dont know any better, they are kids.

I spent nearly ten years of my life trying to find justice in a certain area. I learned that one individual, or even a large organization can accomplish very little to change 5 billion people. What I can do is raise my own children in a non-abusive environment, and that I have done.

In your own time, you will also realize you have changed very little in this world.

Even Margaret Mead, the woman who made anthropology a common word, admitted that her achievement that meant most to her was her role in the flow of generations, I think is how she said it, which means raising children and helping with grandchildren. NOT her academic work.

A lot of well-meaning young women feel called to become Social Workers so they can do something about child abuse and domestic violence. Doesn't it make your heart beat faster to hear of all that dedication?

So, what is their reality? Most of their time is spent on false sex abuse charges filed by divorcing mothers who find their poor performance as mothers means they are about to lose custody to the father who was actually taking care of the kids while Mommy ran around. In Iowa a few years ago, those false charges were 85% of all such charges filed, and each one has to be thoroughly investigated, which means real sexual abuse gets lost in the heap of crap they are trying to dig through.

I think it's because most people can't maturely discuss something that they haven't litterally experienced, or someone close to them have experienced. That and the fact that it is a depressing subject, and brings right into your face the fact that people ignore or overlook something so disgusting to themselves, and don't involve themselves in any kind of program that can help identify these abusers or abusees in order to try and stop these things.....america is too focused on other countries poverty and abuse, because it is soooo far away and they don't have to look at it. If we focused more on america, we might see it living right next door to us and then what kind of a**holes are we when we ignore it then..... America lives in la la land where everything happens in other countries, not in our own backyard....i personally think those topics should be covered here and maybe some of these kids on this site (or grownups) that face abuse might see that we do care and it is okay to talk to someone about it cause you just might get help. My children and i are victims of abuse, and if it weren't for open minded, caring, people who focus on whats going on here, we might still be......there is hope for america if more people start talking about it and quit acting like it's something to be ashamed of, especially those people who are ashamed of family members that do it or have it done to them---quit being ashamed and get ANGRY and do something, and we prolly would see more people discussing it---in reference to the person who said this isn't the place--where is the place? I haven't been able to find it yet, and i am sure there are more people like me who would like to know where you can talk about it......

Hey Papa, I think most people are on here to have fun and be helpful at the same time. Discussions about all the evil in the world is just depressing. It's not that people don't care, this just isn't a good site to discuss those matters.

Try to ignore topics that offend you. It takes all kinds of people to make up this incredibly mixed up planet. We are not all alike, thank goodness. How boring would that be?
There are many different forms of humor. Some are far more absurd than others, but the people who are posting off- beat comments think they are being funny. If they are offensive try to direct your attention elsewhere.
Try to remember that there are also allot of young people on here with too much time on there hands as well.

Because child and elderly abuse are too horrible to think about it. They like to live with the delusion that it is a very rare occurance.

Thank you for being one who cares. but, do not forget, that the vast majority of us exercise great compassion towards our fellow humans, all the animals, and the flora that makes our planet inhabitable.

Now, do not blame the ignorant fools who would criticize our great love for even them. We can jokingly tell them that a village has an opening for them...

But, don't they deserve our comapassion most, for being so very foolish as to tease the very persons who will be their rescuers?

And, for the most part, we serve in silence, because our works are too important to neglect even to glance at a few lowly curs who run under our wagons, as we go our ways, feeding and clothing our hungry and needy neighbors.

That is my piece, and now, I will hope and pray for peace.
Bless you, one and all.
