I've seen it with my own eyes.
I have a gorgeous daughter, and she's led a charmed life so far. I always told her that people fall all over her because she'd brushed her teeth well and her face was nice and clean, of course.

That depends. I have read on a site somewhere a while ago that its being scientifically proven that more attractive and taller ppl are getting promoted faster. They don't have too much conclusive evidence on it but its beginning to look that way. But I personally think beauty can be a hinderance, because If some woman thinks she is going to get away with everything because she is beautiful and then realizes that after she has gotten away with so much and no one really wants to hear her opinion on anything, because they would probably just think she is a airhead with a nice rack. Beauty is a good thing to have at times but I think its highly over estimated. And can hurt ppl in the long run if that is the only trump card they have.

I think unfortunately in this shallow world, beauty makes all the difference. I was a teen when this happened, but I've never been all that attractive, and when I went into a store in the mall to ask if they were hiring, the woman looked me up and down and said in a real nasty expression, "Nnnnnooo..." and just kind of looked disgusted at me. It made me feel like crap and I've never forgotten it. I get it now too, although in more subtle ways.

I don't know...I am very attractive, but have been treated badly because of the way I used to act. Nobody wanted to be around me and it wasn't even my fault. I ended up being diagnosed with ADHD in the 5th grade and everything went uphill. I believe it has everything to do with how you act, and if you're socially confident or not.

having been both, i can tell you, being good-looking IS a hinderance in that most of time, people tend to not look beyond your looks to who you really are.
