I live In south Florida and its very hot. Due to window damage from Hurricane Wilma we are without AC. We have made some lifestyle adjustments to cope with the heat.

Get up between 4 and 5 am or even earlier and get all the arduous jobs done like cleaning, house repairs, laundry before sun rise.

Eat small light meals frequently. Heavier meals in the morning when its coolest.

Drink plenty of fluid.

Lots of cold showers

light cotton clothing

Take naps during the hottest part of the days

Install ceiling fans in every room.

Go to the library or the mall if you really get to hot.

Early to bed so you can awake when its still cool.

I have a window unit in the guest house that I rent, but I never ever turn it on. I live in San Antonio, Texas and at this time of year it's 95 degrees or warmer every single day without fail. However all I need to keep cool is a small fan and many of my windows remain open all the time. It's really not bad. And living like I do I never get overwhelmed by the heat when I'm outside which is a good portion of the day on most days.
If it ever gets really hot, say 105 (it's not even a given that it'll get this hot even one day each year) then I just drink a lot of extra water or sometimes I'll even wear wet jeans and t-shirt.

at home? nope, coz I usu staying at the office, but on sat ac is off as well..just using the fan. I am staying in Manila and during summer times we stay outside the house like going to the malls or beaches or is there is no choice I just have a good bath with ice cubes on water and after that I open all the fan that we only got.

If you have a two storey home, stay at the ground in the afternoons and at night at 2nd level. cool breeze goes up at night and vise versa. cool air comes from eastern part so locate your window openings or window at that part.. stay on that part of the house as well and place some plans to provide you with fresh air..you can also try adding exaust to help air circulate. you may also place a ice cubes infront of the opened fan. dont move so much and stay at a place where you find it cool and maybe watch TV with cool seneries as well...

I have air conditioning now, thankfully, in the past I got used to the heat after a while and jumped into the shower throughout the day to cool off. I had several fans and arranged them to circulate air efficiently.

We don't have air. As soon as it gets cooler outside than it is inside I open up all the windows and put fans in the windows. Then in the morning when is starts to get hotter outside than it is in the house I close all the windows and shut all the blinds. As long as it gets cooler at night that helps.

i'm uncertain the place cats are origionally from yet I wager the air high quality is extra useful even in a stuffy warm room than in one with synthetic air. some thing related to the synthetic air is undesirable i think of- I continually get throat subject concerns and stuff from my room being air conditioned, even inspite of the incontrovertible fact that i'm used to it now. while is the final time you wiped clean the clear out on the AC besides- the get all filthy or maybe moldy. My mom grew to become into traveling and it occured to her to bathe mine and she or he reported it grew to become into undesirable. So i assume that would rather result the air high quality precise?! Cats are sensible, they understand extra useful

i do have air conditioner, and if i didn't id probably steal a window unit from sears or something. There really shouldn't be any reason for people to live without air conditioning, unless you're a bum.

Easy set up a fan near you and a spray bottle. Sray yourself occasionally and the fan will feel really good. Or sit in front of your freezer and fridge. I used to drive in a car that didn't have one and bought a spray bottle that had a foam fan attatched to it and when you squirted it it would spray a mist. I got that fan at the as seen on tv store.

I do, yes. But I'll be moving into a place that the living room doesn't cool fast, because of the big windows. Maybe I'll buy some special curtains.
